What you can expect from Volunteering with NOPA

• Opportunities for training and development – we will include you in team training and support you to access relevant external training opportunities.
• To be treated with respect as part of the team.
• Once you have regularly volunteered for 6 months, we can provide references on request.
• Out of Pocket expenses.
• Involvement in the team’s social events.

Past volunteers have gone on to gain paid work within the organisation, qualify as social workers, therapists and within the education system, some have even gone on to set up their own projects and services:

Samantha joined NOPA as a volunteer administrator. Whilst volunteering she gained NVQ level 2 Business Administration.
Samantha now works in NHS.

Shereen started volunteering at 15 after taking part in the Performing Arts activities. She went on to get a Masters Degree in Drama Therapy, returning to NOPA to volunteer her services for two years. She went on to set up her own community business.

Our student placements have also achieved:

2017 S was a placement from Roehampton university, where she finished her placement as psychotherapist and went on to set up her own business.

2018 J placement student from Roehampton University finished her placement and became a member of staff. She worked as a Psychotherapist for two years. She has now moved on to set up her own counselling business.
